Fish. Salad. Water. All it took was those three words to inspire a small army of fans on Facebook to worship at the altar of Osmin Hernandez.
The Cult of Osmin began to take hold in 2011 when NUVO premiered Operation Osmin, a reality series that found the physical trainer working 10 overweight people into the shape of their lives in a brutal, 30-day challenge. If it ended there, it would have been like many other fitness-related shows that came before and after it, but nothing about Operation Osmin was that easily defined.
Hernandez’s recruits went under the kind of relentless training program a Marine drill sergeant would wince at. Parking lots, congested city streets, garbage dumpsters; Hernandez didn’t buy into the high-end gym thing for his training sessions. Hernandez also instructs his trainees to eat an exclusive diet of fish, salad, and water through the entire 30-day challenge.
Clearly, Hernandez doesn’t have any time for complainers, which isn’t surprising once you find out his Hollywood movie-like backstory.
