Latin Grammy Gold

The Latin Recording Academy announced nominations for the XIII Annual Latin Grammy Awards Tuesday in L.A., recognizing some of the greatest Latino artists that have made 2012 rock! The announcement also drew many of music’s biggest artists to Hollywood to make the announcements, including Colombian superstar Juanes, Mexican pop duo Jesse & Joy (pictured above) and Peruvian rocker Gian Marco.

Singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra nabbed the most noms with six, and we have no doubt that during the November 15 Latin Grammys ceremony in Vegas, the two-time Grammy- and 12-time Latin Grammy-winning superstar from the Dominican Republic will walk away with a few more golden statues to add to his vast collection.

Other artists garnering multiple 2012 Latin Grammy nominations include Jesse & Joy with five, and landing four nominations each are Juanes, Cuban jazz icon Arturo Sandoval, Mexican pop-rocker Carla Morrison and Brazilian music legend Caetano Veloso, who was also named the 2012 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.

The XIII Annual Latin Grammy Awards will rock Sin City on November 15 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center and will be broadcast live on Univision beginning at 8 p.m. (7 p.m. Central).

Can’t wait ’til November! Until then, we’ll be cranking this great live version of Jesse & Joy’s gorgeous ballad “Corre” (below), from the sibling duo’s multi-nominated album Who Gets the Dog? (¿Con Quién Se Queda El Perro? ).
